It was a great training week! I wasn't focusing on any area in particular, just having fun and doing what I wanted. My totals for the week:
Swim- 2.1 miles
Bike- 116.63 miles (ROCK ON!)
Run- 19.58 miles (two long runs!)
I had a couple awesome days.
1. On Thursday I biked and swam in the morning. That evening I decided to try out my new running shoes. I started my run not really knowing how far I would go. I ran 9 miles! That isn't my longest run. I ran a half marathon back in September. The cool thing is the timing of the run. I had been up since 4:15 am and I had already worked out hard (18 mile bike and a swim).
2. On Sunday I got up before church and run 8.5 miles (I was shooting for 10 but ran out of time). My legs were sore and I was tired. In the afternoon I decided to take the road bike out for a spin (yes, I am insane and no, I never sit down). I told Aaron I might be back in thirty minutes but the latest would be an hour. One hour and thirty minutes later I was home. I biked 26 miles!
Why do I think these days are awesome? Well besides the obvious fact that I LOVE to workout and these days included a ton of hard work, they also show my endurance. Triathlons are not short races. I need to be able to work really hard for at least two hours without stopping. I am very pleased with my endurance :)
This coming week I am going to try and get in some more runs.
