Tis a gift to be simple

Ok so that is a Quaker melody. But I thought of it as I took in the pretty stained glass. Very nice, very pretty, free of icons. But I liked what was standing in front of it better.

Now I had just told Joshua that he could not ring the bell. But Papa does not answer to me, plus Nana dared him so, he had no choice really.

Books!
NRSV still in the pulpit from the morning sermon.

The Pastor also had books set around the pulpit I assume to spark her congregation's interest. Very interesting choices.

My Great Grandma Poel played this piano.

The Baptismal is little more than a closet in the basement with a small window to look through. Mom said they sometimes went down to the Mississippi to do their Baptizin'. So much the better. Where is water more plentiful than the mighty Mississippi?
Joh 3:23 John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming and being baptized.

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ
were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the
glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."--
Romans 6:3,4

"Though our inbred sins require
Our flesh to see the dust;
Yet as the Lord our Saviour rose,
So all his followers must."
- C.H. Spurgeon

Our savior bids us come and die, that we might live.
