We have all the tasks of a normal stay at home mom plus the added job of educating our children. And for most homeschool moms this is serious business. We are not attempting to educate our kids as well as the public or private school system. We are striving for a better education than what is offered elsewhere.
So we have that added stress. It is a wonderful thing. I really do love sitting down and teaching my children. The hard part is forgetting the dishes, laundry, sticky floors, dirty bathrooms, overgrown lawn, weeds in the flower bed, crumbs on the floor, toys all over the living room floor, dinner waiting to be made, phone ringing, emails to be sent, family members to encourage….the list goes on and on. But then there is that moment when your four year old tells you he is going to do really good on this worksheet. So he shows you his muscles, pumps them a few times and sets off writing the letter “b”. And ya know what, he did a great job. He got a sticker with a shark on it and it made him smile.
So I am proudly changing my name from stay at home mom to “homeschool mom”. :)
Recess is over and I am off to read "The Red Sails of Capri" to my boys and then conquer our spanish lesson. After that I will attempt to work on all the other things...

My hat is off to you for answering the great calling of being a homeschooling mom! I am not one myself, but have several friends who are. And I certainly have the greatest respect for you ladies!!! :)
I still have tons of crumbs and toys on my floor, though. :) Sigh. Someday I will miss the crunch and the danger of walking through a room in the dark around here. :)
And I love the quote you have from Beth Moore at the top of your page!
Blessings!
K :)
(I came here from Lysa's. Your title caught my eye.)
