Nature Study :)

The last couple of weeks our school field trips have centered around getting out into nature and experiencing the beauty that God has created.

Last week I took all three kids, rented a canoe, and went searching for a bald eagle on Lake Evergreen. We have seen this eagle on previous trips and decided we wanted to try and find him again. Try as we might we did not catch a glimpse of our bald eagle (yes, he is ours). But we had a great time canoeing all over the lake.
Today we went hiking on trails around Lake Evergreen. The kids were very excited for this little adventure. Joshua was excited to bring his camping knife. Because "you know mom you never know when you might meet some bears" :)
The kids took turns being in the "lead" on our expedition.
They needed a snack along the way.
We gathered numerous objects for our nature table. Asher liked collecting cool sticks. Amazing how many sticks there are in the woods...
We did not find any bears (or squirrels, rabbits, birds). So Joshua had to content himself with using his knife to cut off a little bark for our nature table. Elliana enjoyed giving him instructions while he was using his knife.
