Update!

I have such a sweet husband! When he told me not to check our blog, I knew he was up to something:)

It has been a long week around our house. Elliana is getting over a cold (which means she has not been sleeping well). So the parental’s are a little worn out these days. Add to that my insane enjoyment of the 5 am classes at the gym and I am one tired mama. But the weekend is upon us! WooHoo!

Joshua finished reading “Ms Piggle Wiggle” and is now reading “The Trumpet of the Swan” (this is his independent reading). I am reading him “The Wheel on the School”. He has really been enjoying this book. I love it because it causes the reader to use critical thinking skills. In science we just finished learning about muscles and bones and we are now working on a book entitled “Why do People Eat?”. He has also been learning about the Peloponnesian wars in history. Below is a picture of a train that Joshua made from a cardboard box...

Asher is doing great with his reading and writing. He also enjoys listening to the books we read for Joshua’s school (as well as those we read for his school). Aaron and I just love talking to Asher because it is wonderful to see the world through his eyes. I was making chocolate chip banana bread this week and he asked me "What is that beautiful smell?” And at swimming lessons he asked me what 4 ft meant. I told him it says 4 feet. His response...”I have two" (feet).

Elliana is walking independently now. It is neat to watch her discover the world around her. We are looking forward to her birthday this weekend. Her new words are “peek a” and "tickle-tickle". A few days ago I woke up to the beautiful sound of Elliana talking in her crib. She was saying "Good-bye" over and over. Life is so good!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
