As Our Own

I love fitness. I enjoy pushing myself farther than I thought I could. When I started competing in triathlons, 5K's and half marathons it was all about time. I wanted a personal record (PR) and I wanted to beat others.

I soon realized that those little goals were not enough. I was focusing on myself and what I wanted to achieve. Those achievements were hollow. I desire to use my passions and interests to help others. I want my life to not be about me but about God's work and what I can do to further His Kingdom. I want my personal record to be how many people I have helped rather than how many people I have beaten.

Last year I competed in my first Olympic distance triathlon for As Our Own. They are an amazing organization that rescues little girls from certain exploitation in India.

This June I am running the Chicago Half marathon in their honor. My goal is to raise $750. Visit my Team Chicago website and donate! I can't do this alone. I need the support of many individuals to reach this goal. Join with me in this journey!

I will run this race that is set before me, but I will not run alone. I will be running with your support and encouragement. But more importantly, I know that God will be with me all the way. With Him all things are possible!

I love how God has wed your athletic talents with this ministry. What a wonderful way to show love for Him and love for others!

Just over 4 months to go! I'd love to get a few more EWO-ers on board . . . maybe the running video played sometime during service! I'll check on it. :)
