Sharing Recipes!!

I am sharing three recipes this morning. Two are meals that everyone loves and they are easy:)
The third recipe is a dessert/snack.

Italian Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients:
3 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 bay leaf
2 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
1 (5 pound) chuck roast
1 green pepper

1. Combine water with salt, ground black pepper, oregano, basil, onion salt, parsley, garlic powder, bay leaf, and salad dressing mix in a saucepan. Stir well, and bring to a boil.
2. Place roast in slow cooker, and pour salad dressing mixture over the meat.
3. Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours, or on High for 4 to 5 hours. When done, remove bay leaf, and shred meat with a fork.
4. Add green pepper 1 ½ hours before it is done (big pieces, not to eat, for flavor).

Barbecue and Bacon Sandwiches

Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
15 slices cooked bacon, broken into pieces
Famous Dave’s Rich and Sassy barbecue sauce (or your favorite)

Brown ground beef and cook bacon. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker heat until warm through out. Serve on buns.

Homemade Granola Bars

Need:
2 ½ cups oats
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup flax seed (or wheat germ)
¾ tsp. cinnamon
½ cup wheat flour
½ cup white flour
1 cup mini chocolate chips (optional) (can use whatever you like)
¾ tsp. salt
½ cup honey
1 egg (beaten
½ cup vegetable oil (can use applesauce)
2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter (can use crunchy) (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Generously grease a 9 x 13 pan.
3. Mix oats, sugar, flax seed, cinnamon, flours, chocolate chips and salt.
4. Make well in center of dry ingredients and pour in the honey, egg, oil and vanilla. Mix well.
5. Pat mixture into prepared pan.
6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
7. Let cool 5 minutes and cut.

I put them in separate snack bags and leave them in a bowl on the counter. It is day three and they are still good! They are delicious slightly warmed up in the microwave!
