I worked very hard at the beginning of the week. On Wednesday I ran 7 miles in the morning, swam 800 yards in the afternoon, and then ran 3 more miles in the evening :) That night I found out I would be running on a relay team for the Illinois marathon, on Saturday.
Typically you taper the week before a race. This allows your body to heal, be well rested, and avoid injuries. I was a bit sore on Saturday but I was excited to run! I normally run 7 miles at a 9:20 pace. I pushed myself really hard and ran at a 8:45 pace :) That is a PR for me (personal record)!!
My distances are low this week because I took it easy on Thursday and Friday (before the race).
Swim- 1.48 miles
Bike- 49.6 miles
Run- 16.78 miles
