Defying Doctors Orders

In the last two months I have seen 7 different doctors and received 4-5 different diagnoses.  I am currently waiting to get two more MRI's and determine definitively (yeah right) what went haywire in April.

With each diagnosis I receive another list of restrictions.  One doctor says no running, another says running is OK, a week later I'm told no biking or running.

This morning I woke up and decided to run.  I wasn't sure how far I would go; but I wanted to run. I headed down Linden and saw the hill (where the trail crosses overhead).  I contemplated turning down Vernon, for about thirty seconds.  I wasn't at 3.5 miles yet, which has been the longest distance I could run before knee pain caused me to stop.  I decided if I was only going to make it 3.5 miles I was going to make them AWESOME miles.  I made it to the top and turned down Jersey.

Oh the rolling hills that are Jersey.  When I hit Towanda I actually punched the sky, with both fists,  and said "Yes!"  Going down Towanda I knew that  a steep hill would be coming and I was ready.  I cruised on up and stopped at the top.  I stretched and then just took a second to look out over the town.  It was an awesome feeling to have run that far and up so many hills.  Running is HARD and the feeling of accomplishment is AMAZING.

Total distance= 5.56 miles
Pace=9:08
Me= one happy momma :)

Way to go! You know your body best and you know your limits. I'm so glad you got a big smile from running. Do what you love! :)
