The Verdict..Maybe

I went to the doctor today.  He feels that my main problem is the SI joint and to solve this problem I need shots..in my back.  So next month I will be allowing a total stranger to stick a needle into my BACK...where my SPINAL CORD is located.  Yikes!

I'm not allowed to run or bike until after I receive these shots in  my BACK where my SPINAL CORD is located.  Until then I will be spending a lot of time in the pool.  I can swim and aquajog.  Yes I look silly, but aquajogging is effective (Learned this fact from the marathon runner next to me in the pool.  She aquajogged for three months and then ran Boston.)

I'm planning a LONG aquajogging session this weekend (2 hours, perhaps longer).  Maybe I could bring a TV and DVD player and set it up by the pool.  That wouldn't be dangerous would it? I'm sure the gym staff wouldn't have a problem with it :)

THAT does NOT sound so PLEASANT! But, even if the Dr. is a stranger to you, at least he is not a stranger to umm...you know, the needle thing.

We'll be praying that all goes well.

From my big babies and lots of pregnancies, I have inflammation in my SI joint and the ligaments are stretched. The ONLY thing that helps (when you're not pregnant) is mobic (strong anti-inflammatory). I see Dr. Rink for my back stuff. I know the pain friend...hang in there. I'll start all the regime for healing it back over after this pregnancy (God willing).

After talking to the PT it turns out that the neurosurgeon decides if I need shots, not my regular doctor.

My doctor referred me to the neurosurgeon. During the consult he (the neurosurgeon) will decide if I need shots. So there is hope that I can avoid shots near my spinal cord :)
