I started running at 5:15 this morning. (I like to get a big chunk of my long runs done before my family wakes up.) I started out thinking I might do 15. I haven't been feeling the whole working out thing all week. Sort of in a slump. My confidence in my athletic ability was waning quite a bit. When I hit 15 it dawned on me that I only had 6 more miles to reach a new distance PR. So I pushed through. Every mile from 17 to 21 was difficult.To reward myself for sticking it out and actually running for 4 hours and 15 minutes, I'm making Sprinkles cupcakes!!! That's right, I reward myself with food :) I figure it's OK to reward myself with food for working out, as opposed to sitting on the couch for 4 hours and watching television.
