Cookie Time!

We made cut out sugar cookies this weekend. A good time was had by all and the results were yummy :)
Here is the sugar cookie recipe that my family LOVES.

Best Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
1 Cup butter/margarine
1 Cup sugar
1 Egg
2 ½ Cups flour
½ teaspoon cream of tarter
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and egg together. Add the dry ingredients. Refrigerate for one hour. Roll out and cut cookies. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.

Icing:
3 Cups powdered sugar
1/3 Cup margarine-softened
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1-2 Tablespoons milk

Amy, I'm so glad to hear that my cookie photos inspired you. From the looks of your blog you love cooking! I don't! But I love baking--cookies, cakes, pies, anything bad for you! I also learned AFTER I finished my cookies that its easier if you roll the dough on the cookie sheets, and just pull the dough off from around the cookies. That way you don't have to transfer them! Ha! Would have liked to have thought of that before we baked them! Enjoy your Christmas!

Rolling the dough on the cookie sheets! That is an awesome idea! Now if I could think of a way to make decorating them easier :)
