These are the BEST blueberry muffins in the world! If you don’t believe me you will have to make them and find out for yourself. Now I need to go so I can hide them from everyone else in the house..

Nutmeg Blueberry Muffins
Ingredients:
½ Cup butter 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened blueberries
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ Cup butter 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided

½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened blueberries
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture just until moistened.
- Fold in blueberries
- Fill paper-lined muffin cups three-fourths full.
- Combine nutmeg and remaining sugar; sprinkle over the top.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 5 minutes before moving from pan to a wire rack. Serve warm.
Yield- 1 dozen.
(if using frozen blueberries, do not thaw them before adding to the batter)
A disclaimer-Before I get emails on the title of this post let me just say that I know that if God made a blueberry muffin it would be way better than anything we can imagine. Think about this...He alone made the ingredients for the muffins :) Another reason to praise the Lord! (seriously, they are extremely yummy muffins!).
